JOHN TO SACRAMENTO

John made it to San Bernardino yesterday and is redeployed to help with the wild fires in Northern California.  They are now on their way to Sacramento to help support firefighters with food, water, etc and displaced people. His driving partner is from near Sioux City.

This is just one random picture of the fire.  They have been driving through farm country with some patches of burned land but heading toward the REAL fires.   Pray for safety.

HEADING TO CALIFORNIA

John spent the  night last night in Birmingham, Alabama and is now on the road to San Bernardino, CA where his truck's home spot is.  He is still with the other driver from near Sioux City, IA and thinks they will get to around Oklahoma City by tonight.  He doesn't know yet if they may be routed to the fires in Northern California.  Red Cross has logistics people who figure out where to send them based on their expertise.  John is somewhat of an 'all purpose' volunteer as he is qualified to drive a truck, mass feeding, mass shelter, communications and first aid.

They gave him a fairly detailed packing list before he left so he filled up this bag.  It included mosquito nets even.  Nothing like being prepared.
